Hi thinking about changing from maf to speed density on my 6. Is it worth it? Not sure. Help

I was looking into this before. As I understand it, it slightly derestricts the intake because you don't need the MAF holding up the airflow and it's also a bit more reliable at measuring the air going in which helps it keep the AFR more precise. For the money it costs because of the sensors needed id say it's not worth the effort unless you're planning a fairly big build and want to squeeze all the horses you can. I may be wrong though, I just briefly looked into it and decided that right now it's not for me and if I ever do decide to go for a big build I'll look into it again. I hope that's some help

Basically a MAF sensor measures the mass airflow directly (ish) and relates air flow to a current/voltage that can be calibrated accordingly, however SD needs to know a Speed, a Pressure and a Temerature, at the intake, very accuratly to calculate MAF leaving a lot more room for error and the need for very expensive sensors. People do it I believe because they have reached the limit of what their MAF sensor can cope with, so an increase in Mass Flow (more power for example) will need an alternate way to measure it, hence using SD.

Thanks for both replys .Cheers. think I will leave it maf as sitting at 375bhp and don't intend going any further. Good advice.
