Hi guys, this is another paranoid post just to check this is right... But ive noticed that the maf isnt plugged in on my car and obviously hasnt been since i bought it, contacted the previous owner and he says it was always like it too. Its a 5 gsr running supporting mods and mapped with apexi power ecu and also has apexi avcr boost control etc. but noticing that the maf isnt plugged in has worried me... Done a bit of reading and have noticed that the apexi ecu came as a maf or map setup. Can anyone confirm this and know an easy way to check that this is the case on mine as i dont want to be doing damage. It drives perfect though but just want to be sure :)

if it was on the MAF the car wouldn't run or would run really badly if it wasn't connected, if it runs ok then is probably on the MAF, how many sensors have hoses going to them from the inlet manifold?

Pictures would also be useful

took a couple of pics although not the best. ive found two units next to each other (in the first pic) with vac hoses coming off the inlet, one with apexi on the top and the other just a black box which could be the map sensor, the only other thing linked to any other bleed hoses which I could see was coming off the actuator which im assuming is just the bleed/boost control valve.

two vac hoses going into these two units next to each other one labelled apexi

this I assume is just the bleed valve controlling the actuator

and yes as previously said I also assumed very rough running or no running at all if it was a maf run setup, as my Subaru would just kill the engine if it was unplugged. but im thinking all is sound as it does run faultless :) can anyone confirm what is in the pics then. cheers

In the top image they are definitely the two boost sensors, one will go to the gauge and one to the ecu.

The second picture has the 3 port which as you said controls the actuator
