Hi all,

Thought I'd just share what I got upto last night.

I was attending my local clubs weekly meet and noticed my friend, who I run the club with, speaking to 2 young lads and a girl. I hadn't seem them before so went over to say hi etc.

They were absolutely loving our cars so Scott offered to take 1 out in his CTR. Unfortunately it's stripped out so could only take 1 so I offered to take another and the last 1 went with another of my mates in a quite sorted 106.

We went for a blast up the bypass and then swapped so they all got a go in different cars.

They were really nice kids and were genuinely chuffed that they'd got to go out in some quite fast cars. They were all quite scared on the roundabouts in the evo though lol!!! They kinda reminded me of myself when I 1st started going to meets etc.

Anyone else take pleasure in doing things like this?

Tom

We did Bruntingthorpe On Your Marks(Asda) last year with Evoowners for charity where the public pay £5 for a lap around the circuit, it was a great crack had the young uns and the parents in the car as well, great seeing their faces as you pin it on the bends and doing 110 through the chicane, was a great day out:D

Good lad maybe you have deterred them from wanting to modify a corsa now and think its fast cos they know no better and just wait until they get a decent car lol

this can be good an bad in a way

good cause your making young ones happy, keeping them from trouble
bad, IF you had a crash, only IF, think of the questions you would get

but i'd love to make some young chaps day by taking them a blast but i fear the worst all the time

We what we did last year at brunters "on your marks" was really good. No risks like on the road and 150 down the straight was awesome !! :)

Did a simular thing last year also for some young carers taking them a mile down the road to where the got into planes and helicopters and back again. Armed police and the airport fire crew and trucks were there demonstrating too

To be honest I wasn't going that fast. I never do on the roads these days. It was just the way it went round roundabouts and accelerated up to 70, that seemed to impress them enough.

I'm hopefully going to do the charity day at snetterton this year but they charge people up to £70 to go in cars!!!

1 lad was chatting to me and he was saying about his 1st car, a 1.2 fiesta, was costing him 3k to insure!!! Feel so sorry for young people these days. I thought it was bad enough when I used to pay 1500 for a 1.6 fiesta!!!
