well as for the reports of teins being crashy then that depends on what each person defines as crash cos whats crashy to one person might not be to another.

i had eibach springs in my vii and yea the ride was nice but i swapped them out for some hks springs which were the same ride height as the teins and it sat much better. and i didnt really notice much in the difference in ride quality but thats just my opinion.

I had eibach springs on my first 6, very nice and felt like any normal road car on the flowing A or B roads, but on track or if giving the car serious beans, i'd go coilovers all day long If you want the best of both worlds, go Ohlin's DFV I'm just saving the pennies to get my hands on a set

Yea, I've read that and also read many other threads saying that the Tein are crashy and harsh. So many mixed opinions and I guess it comes down to brand preference at the end of the day.
Ordered some Tein last night so will hopefully get them in time to fit them on Thursday. The Mrs is going to pay for the geometry adjustments for my B'day present

start with the rears cos they are simple.

to remove strut simply remove wheel then there 2 14mm bolts, 1 at the bottom of the strut and another right next to it. remove them both and let the lower arm swing down towards centre of the car. then its just 2 14mm nuts on the top but youll have to remove boot carpet and side panels but thats not a difficult job.


fronts just as easy
obviously remove wheel then youll find 2 17mm bolts at bottom of the strut to remove now these are camber bolts so best to scratch a line around the edge of the lower bracket where it meets the hub, then you can get back in a simular position. as they are camber bolts youll need to undo the nut from the bolt and tap the bolt straight out.

once front struts are removed stand it upright and look down on it from above and youll see that there is a hole in the top cap and another directly below in the spring cup. ensure these still line through when you re assemble the strut with the new spring fitted .

re fit struts then take for a good computerised 4 wheel alignment to reset the camber angles and front and rear track


oh and dont forget to stand back and admire your cars new and improved look

yea all well become apparent once you see it.

no no jap bolts are good, once cracked off the are more or less finger tight

we will require good before and after pics

It's just rubber sleeves to stop the coils rattling together
