Lowered the 9 today..

Firstly thanks to B6lee and everyone else that has given me advise on lowering my car. (Also sorry bakes fq for hijacking your thread :wtf::blush

Ordered a set of Tein springs Tuesday. They arrived late Wednesday so I planned to start early on Thursday.

I did eventually find quite a good guide here >EVO Performance Parts | EvoMoto.com

So after a later than planned start it ended up taking me just under 6 hours to complete. All work carried out on the pavement at the side of a quite busy B road as I have no garage or drive. I don't think this is too bad considering I'm far from skilled at being a "mechanic" :arms:. Didn't really come across any major problems. One of the studs for holding the brake line onto the shock sheered off which was a bit annoying.

No clunking, knocking or anything and I do feel that the car feels more rigid and far from crashy or anything else people have commented on Teins being.

All I need to do now is let the springs settle a bit and get it booked in for a laser alignment.

Excellent stuff! Did you manage to download the torque settings ok? I found them a bugger to find in the manuals.

Tbh I don't have a torque wrench. I've tightened them all up then given them all a last little tweak with my breaker bar. Not the best method I know but I'll get extreme uk guys to just give it a check over when it's in for service in the next few weeks.

I need to do mine too, but ive heard of some issues with lowering springs on the X so need to save for some coilovers really.

What's the thoughts of apex lowering springs the yellow ones. Have found a good deal in new

Trouble I found with cheap springs like apex, jamex etc I that they just keep sagging

If you mean coil overs no I don't. Not going to be racing the car, don't need to go lower, happy with the ride and comfort on springs.
