Lost 3rd and4th in evo 2

I've just bought a evo 2 needed a clutch so I put clutch In why the box was out I replaced 5gear synchro ring and found the end bolt in shaft was loses so fixed that put box bk in went for test drive can select 3rd and 4th but they free rev no gear but I have manged to find 3rd a couple of times but no 4th at all on plus side 5th lovely lol anyone got idea been told it could be selectee fork but if I order one got to wait 4 weeks to be shipped in so any ideas I could try ?? Could it be linkage?? Please help

I would be looking at the linkage mate, on top of the gearbox make sure it's connected properly there first off, if all ok check linkage at the gearstick end

Checked the linkages at box end strange that when I forgot to put linkage clips in to hold in place I had what I thought was 1,3,5 and reverse put clips in and no 3rd or 4th can the linkage be adjusted??

Don't know if this can be adjusted, I just have 2 to clip on and that's all gears so not sure how yours are laid out

3-4 are on diff gears something has miss aligned when u done the 5 gear synchro

Been having a play and by adding a washer at gearstick end I can get all 5 gears but tryed test drive lost 3rd and 4th straight away but if I fish about can find 5th so wondering if I have stretched cables!! Looking under the bonnet looks like I have two 13 mill nuts on each cable are these adjusters??

Yer I will be if I can get sorted lol and cheers if I can't sort it I.ll let u know we can sort something once all done want to get it on dyno get it all set up got a print out from old owner 386bhp but it's got electronic boost control and stuff on it that I don't know how to set up and a few cosmetic things to sort as well but it was cheap lol

Gave up trying to get anywhere today as had battery of and not sure how to set electronic boost control up and over boosting like a twat on the gear front had a play this morning and I got all gears when I put washers on but tryed to drive and lost 3rd and 4th again so now not sure if linkage or it's something in box just weird losing the 2 every time
