I haven't got a solenoid mate.

has the car had the overboost problem since the day you had it?
looks like someone has robbed/borrowed your solenoid and not replaced it.

hitting fuel cut on a regular basis/over long period of time is not good for your engine.

What I would do for now to be safe is to put a straight piece of pipe from the actuator to the turbo j-pipe nipple, and providing your actuator is ok then this setup will run a very safe approx 0.8bar of boost (although the car will feel slow)

You need to get a boost gauge to monitor what is going on.

Your either going to have to buy a replacement solenoid or you could buy a dawes device (manual boost controller) and use this to setup your boost.

plugs are fine, the reason you were kicking out black smoke (usualy associated with overfueling) was because of the boost cut, and a bit of excess/unburnt fuel running into the exhaust.

I agree with Sponners, those plugs look good to go. You might want to wire brush them if they are still out at the moment.

Sponners suggestion on the J pipe is a good idea, but I would look for a Solenoid as soon as possible, i.e, in the morning because it will save you a lot of head ache.

Keep us posted right here.

Yes buddy you got it right!!!

If you notice, the vacuum pipe that goes to the actuator has a heat shield on it to protect the pie from getting cured. That is when you know it is in the right place as opposed to the other one.
