Hi guys,

Currently the owner of a 350z and the misses has said I need something more practical. Ooohhh I will get a back seat ;)
Currently speaking with a dealership about going and seeing one at the weekend and hopefully doing a deal.

Anything I should be looking out for? its a 08 plate with just under 50K on the clock.

Thanks,
Kris

Apart from the obvious service history there are a few common issues that you need to enquire about.
Ayc pump. If it has not been repaired or replaced it will soon need attention with 50k on the clock.
Clutch master cylinder (manual box). The oe cyl is a plastic construction and they are prone to failure.
MAF sensor. These are a common failure and would be well advised to carry a spare (can now be found for £70 as opposed to £200+ a couple of years ago).

There are a few recalls that you should check on - bonnet release cable, fuel pipe and airbag sensor spring to mind.

With the exception of the above, the X is a reliable and practical car to own if you keep the power standard or stage one. Above this level more issues such as engine internals and diff pins require consideration with considerable financial outlay.

One important item I missed. Change the fuel pump relay. No matter what is fitted now get the latest relay (Ross Sport) and fit it. Could save a engine rebuild.
