Hi people , just after a bit of advice really,

I'm currently looking for a new car, now I've had a quick glance at Evos , I have around £6,500 to spend including the sale of my current car

I was looking at a Evo 7 , but I think the budget is quite tight for one , there's seams to be a few 6s around !

I'm a mechanic so a few jobs don't bother me , but rust does and 6s seam a little more prone to it?

Just after a general opinions really, if it's worth jumping in , and if so what people would recommend !

Thanks guys

Welcome beasley. Ive just bought one a 5. I'm also a mechanic but do listen to advice on here. They know there stuff.

One thing I do know is that once you get one, you will want to drive it all the time.

hope you find a good one

Cheers :) I'm hoping find a good one, like I say don't mind a bit of work but rots a pain to clear !

I don't drive mega miles but I've driven quite a few and they are great fun, I currently have a modified Clio sport that's amazing fun around corners just misses the grunt

Fingers crossed :)

I'm hoping there's seams to be a few good ones! I'm not really fussy which helps, Anythjng major to look out for on them? Seen these AYC pumps fail but I've seen repair kits available , anything else ?

Don't worry about the AYC pump failure as they can be refurbed for around £250
Or I think dan on her sells a kit, quite easy to refurb yourself if your hands on guy

Nice 5 or a bit tatty 6 for £6500

The rusty ones, just have not been looked after, obviously, the first job with mine will be to get it properly etched primed, all metal, then underseal, also get the cavities, wings, doors and quarter panels blasted, I'm anal with rust, but when my cars sell on, people get a top car, they are never properly undersealed when they come from Japan for the conditions here, so it's up to the owner to address the problem, good luck with your search. ;)
