Living with Evo 9 Everyday

As I am going to get an Evo 9 I can't stop thinking how easy it is to live with one everyday haha :awesome:

Since I am going to use it everyday to drive to work with a mixture of 40% and 60% motorway...with some stop-start traffic jamming...
Currently I am fine with GTI because the clutch is quite light but I'm not too sure about Evo's heavier clutch.

Also...since I'll clog up about 1250 miles a month...for a 2005 car, which bit of the car will likely to fail first?

If you gona do alot of miles you probably need to service it more than anything else every4500 miles so that's every 3 to 4 months apart from that the tappets are a common fault not sure about the Evo 9 thow. The rest is normal wear and tare.

I live with mine everyday at the moment, As long as you drive it properly and don't rag it every single moment i shouldn't think you'll have any issues, as long as you service it correctly.

Once you get used to the heavy clutch it's not a problem to use on a daily basis.

Obviously you will be filing it up with fuel more often than you did with your other car as they not renoun for being economical!

I tend to (try) drive mine at sensible speeds when commuting and save the fun for evenings and weekends when the roads are less busy.

The only problems I have had with mine are the ones that I inherited with the car.

Once these are sorted I don't expect too many problems.

As mentioned, make sure you have it serviced by a reputable tuner or proper mitsi garage every 5k miles and you should be fine.

However, as with most high end cars, if it goes wrong it's usually expensive to fix!

I dont use mine everyday as I do on average 100 miles a day but like the guys say if you look after it you should be good. Had mine from 14000miles and now got 37000miles it's so far just cost me service and remap is always extra so that's not bad.

Thanks for all your replies, definitely aided in my confidence to use the Evo as a daily car.
As recommended by most of you, the car should be serviced every 5k miles? I mean as in oil and oil filter change, plus gearbox/brake fluid change at intervals recommended in the user manual?

ACD wiring in the passenger's footwell can go rotten if the water gets in.
