Little silver switch

Right guys, out in the car today and I noticed a little silver switch on the plastic under the steering wheel, smack bang in middle of the steering column.

Any ideas to what this might be?

Rear fog light seems to have a normal switch. Silly position for anything like that tbh

So just out of curiosity ficked the switch while driving, maybe the wrong thing to do, car popped and banged like when on over run, flicked it back snd all good. Guess its i need to follow it and see where it goes like b6lee said

Switching pops and bangs is not a bad thing mate.. Bet it sounded good

Switchable maps sounds like, if you haven't tinkered with the car it should be all ok lots of us have switchable. Get the maps checked for peace of mind mate

Not had the car too long, just curious to what it's for, will defo follow the wires when I get some spare time, good idea to get someone to look at the map/maps can this be done at home?
