I started refurbing a set of wheels the other week.
It's just a set of alloys I've got for my little pug 106.
The plan is that if I can do a decent job on them then I'll have a go at the evo wheels

Finally finished but what an ucking nightmare it has been, first off couldn't find the lock in wheel nut so had to bash a socket over them then undo them that way, and get new lock in wheel nuts :wtf: the first 2 wheels went like a dream, cleaned them, rubbed them down filled a few scrapes, then sprayed them and lacquered them, thwn cleaned calipers rubbed them down then painted them, then once dry put the wheels back on.

The other 2 wheels were a complete mare to do, did everything exactly the same then went to spray them and had major reactions !! :shock::shock: so had to rub them down then re spray then rub down again and re spray, in total 6 times just so the first coat wouldn't react. :sad:

Then had to wait for the coats to dry and the lacquer to dry so yea not a job I'm likely to do again in a hurry, but they do look nice though

I found one or two of my wheels reacted but it was cold so I took a hair dryer to it and used the hairdryer while I was spraying and made the first couple of coats really light and all wad good. Glad u got it all done now though

Then it was getting dark so had to do the other wheels in the garage, and they were a nightmare :sad: but here's the pics.

as it was stupid o clock in the morning, we were ucked and aching all over plus the pic quality was rubbish so i didn't take alot cos we just wanted to get them done and sleep, so i took a few this morning


I've never done it before so was a challenge, and i can safely say not one i'll be doing again any time soon...

Foxy you've done a great job of the wheels!!! :awesome:

The brakes definately need the yellow stickers now to break them up from the wheels. Are you gonna lacquer the calipers once the stickers are on?

It does look strange not seeing your Evo with the yellow wheels lol. Any other plans for it?
