Lazy start

hi all. hopefully just a small problem. my evo 8 mr fq320 seems to have a lazy start when i turn the key. starts first time every time but just doesnt sound normal. lazy is the only way i can describe it. is this a battery or starter motor problem? will take it in to mitsubishi tomorrow as there are a couple more questions i have.

the other ones are that when i slow down to almost stop and dip the clutch the revs die down to almost zero and almost cuts out unless i blip the accelerator. any ideas?

lastly when i bury the accelerator now and again at around 4k rpm, i hit what seems to be like a rev limiter! as soon as i lift off and then reapply it is fine again.

the car has had a decat pipe and air filter but not been for a remap yet

have some ideas of what it may be but wanted to know if anyone has had similar problems.

dont bring it to a mitsubishi garage they will rob you blind and from my experience they know little about evos, find an evo specialist close to you and bring it to them.

'lazy' starting could be battery or motor like you said,

are you running a vta dump valve? that is usualy the cause of nearly stalling when coming to a stop and dipping clutch,

the 4k issue sounds like fuel cut which will probably been down to fitting the induction kit, remap needed (avoid hitting the cut until you get it sorted, if you can adjust your boost pressure then lower it slightly)

i think ill take it down to abbey motorsport. it is just standard mate although i think there is some sort of dump valve as it makes a nice loud sound but i have been told it is standard
no idea if i can adjust the boost pressure mate. i work with wood! lol
