Kelford 272 Cams Fitted Today

I fitted these Kelford 272 Cams today to my E5. Runs lumpy now but going for remap next week

Nice I was planning that soon how did you time up verniers ??

I had piper 264 cams in before so to say time i cable tied the timing belt to the verniers in a few places and supported them from the bonnet with a wire, fitted the Kelford 272 Cams and then got TDC and played with my mate tool for setting the valve lift but this took me about 75 mins just to set the valve lift to how Kelford recomended them to be set at. They are not set exact but very very close and will get them set correct during remap next week. These are a great cam but they do run a little lumpy on idle.

Good idea I ain't got verniers to start with what condition ur old cams ?? I'm looking for no valve spring needed at mo ?

Piper Cams removed today have done about 1300 mile and i am going to use these in the uprated engine build i am doing presently on an E8 engine mate. Anything up to a 267 cam you can use standard springs and not revving beyond 7500-8000 RPM but adjustable cam gears are great fine tuning and tweaking the cams. If you ever have the head off your evo get yourself E9 Bee Hive springs and retainers as they are a very good spring and that are better than any other standard evo spring and a lot cheaper the BC Piper kelford springs and retainers if using up to a 272 cam.
I used the piper springs and retainers that were already fitted by me when fitted the piper cam kit a while back.

I have a set of MR cams that have done 29K miles but in perfect condition if your interested!

What bhp n torque u expecting ??

Standard head and standard valves running 280 cams!!!!! 280 Cams power band runs to 10000 RPM to get their full potential. I know the standard spring takes a lot ot abuse but they do have their limit. Sooner you than me mate :shock:

Running Gems ECU at the moment and only set on 1.2 bar on boost as second mapping never got finished and i was running 428 BHP with 482 lb Torque so hope to have around the 600 BHP and 540+ lb Torque at 1.9 0r 2.0 bar when mapping is done next week but i would like it to be 450/450 on low boost and 550/550 on high boost and would rather sacrafice BHP for Torque

Yea i will do mate and Jamie said he tweak these cams when i am on the rollers next week Wednesday, been waiting a long time to get this mapping finished. Will never use Steve Simpson again and i would advise people to stay clear of this guy. Went for the Kelfords as they had a profile like no other cam and well worth the money :whistling:

looking good phil,mine is only set at 1.5bar but i now want a high boost set at 2.0/1bar of boost
