Just bought my first Evo

Hi All

Just signed up on here, so i have no idea who each of you are but im sure that will change.

I have just purchased my first Mitsi, (Mitsi Evo X, GSR FQ-360).

My last car was a Golf R32, the car before was a Subaru STI.

When my golf was coming up to 3 years old i thought about going back to the Subaru - but how i really dont like the new look of them. So Mitsi garage myself, hubbie, and my son went to. In the showroom was a Evo X 300 and straight away i loved the look of it. We looked around the internet and the next weekend i travelled with my son 360 miles round trip to see a Evo X 360 which had only 800 miles on the clock. A week later i picked him up.

I am very pleased with it.

Hi

Well we have had the beast for almost 3 weeks now and really enjoying it. We went down the motorway this morning (hubbie was driving) and went 150, even at that speed the car was not bumpy.

Last week i took the car to a mitsi garage and had some mudflaps and reversing beepers on.

One question i would like to ask anyone. I would like the car to sound beefier - any suggestions?.

I havent had the pleasure of knowing what the x sounds like, surely it cant be that tame?? I'd say looking into various aftermarket induction and exhaust kits might give you the sound you are after!! At last a pic of your x lol very nice indeed

When we had the Scooby the sound was really nice, you could hear the car coming down the road.

My hubbie has said the best way to describe the sound of the evo X is its like a cortina mk2.

Yeah but the scooby has a distinctive sound though, the only way you will find out about exhaust and induction kits to get the kind of sound you are after is to speak to other x owners, do you know any 1 else with an x???

Dont know of anyone else with a X.

When i was in the Mitsi garage having the flaps and bits doing on the car i did speak to one of the blokes in there about it and he did mention about some exhaust bits. I mite speak to him again about it.

But really thou the car is really brilliant, bit thirsty now and then but what the hell. The phone system in it i am still trying to get my head round but should be there soon.

Try a Blitz Exhaust System...My old Evo 4 sounds awesome with it

Just chill for now; they seem to get a bit louder when you get a few k on the clock. I had a 330 for a day a while back with 5k on the clock and that was nice. Getting a 360 V. Soon, and cant wait.
You could always get a decat pipe, that will make it a bit louder, but to be honest I'd just hang on and let it bed in!
