The thing with the MLR is that it has a pretty big group of members, and as in all things in life, the more people there are in one place, the more chance of having some **** heads amongst you.. Also jealousy pays a huge part in snidy comments, when some of the 'mature' members can't stand to see a younger person doing well.. I don't know why, but that been quite an issue over there now and again.. I'm a paid up member, and I've met a few good tuners over there, but I mainly just stick to for sale threads, trader and technical areas these days..

its like ive always said mlr is not a nice forum we shoulde all be getting along with eachother as we own the same cars and we can all learn from 1 another as we do here

unless you have a 2.3 stroker an are 1 of the click over there your not accepted i only go over now to check on parts for sale etc and throw the odd comment in

this site will in-time take over the mlr

thats my opinion anyway as quite alot of the guys from there are gradually working there way over here

you will be fine over here soph we will look after ya x

Now you mention it I think I did read something saying about a stupid little dog bla bla, all they do is snarl and bite bla bla bla. WTF why do people write that shit. I mean if you don't like someones dog then everyone is intitled to an oppinions but really some people need to learn to keep them to them selves rather than just insult people. No need for it

Stick with us soph, or should we really call you Sophia ?? :)

I just re-newed my membership but only cos I use parts for sale and private messages so unless you pay then you are limited.

Soph is gd everyone calls me soph :) I received all my mlr membership goodies today and I will go to their shows etc because I don't think people would have the guts to bitch about people in front of them lol, and it would actually be nice to meet some of them on there and on here (well the nice ones from mlr) :). Thanks Lee, I'm glad it's different here, I feel welcome here lol :) x

Soph, I wouldn't take it to heart :)

You can tell who the ones are that simply don't have a life outside of the MLR, pity them, don't get angry.

As Skuff said, its a big club, so you are bound to run into more idiots, who think that what they say is the gospel truth (and how bloody dare you question them lol). Unfortunately, they are the more active (post count whores) on the site, the ones worth listening to don't post as often in the non lancer sections, you would be more likely to find them in the tech sections. There are some very decent users there, but there posts just aren't as noticeable as the to55ers who post.

I seen the thread about you getting a puppy and some of the posts are just shiite, not useful at all. By the way, that dog you just got, very nice. A friend of mine had one (well his mum did) and was asked to give it a wash, what did he do, used his Nanna's blue rinse by mistake hahaha :)

See that £35 you spend on an annual membership for the MLR, I know that a few on here don't like the idea of it, but if you have plans to buy things for the X and use the traders, you will see savings easily over that initial £35.

Chin up, you're on a lot friendlier forum over here.

There are certainly a few sheep on there. lol. Like I say though, there are some very decent people on there e.g, I posted a thread saying that I wanted some rear garnish lights for the boot of my V, someone replied saying he had some and would just cost me the delivery charge to get them from Ireland, turned out I had a set that he wanted, so just a straight swap, no money exchanged or anything like that, I thought that was pretty decent :)

Edit, when are you getting the car? or do you already have it?

Its a little awkward to say this sen as they are a competitor but that is absolute bollox! There is a certain cost price on parts and traders want to sell them to you above that price. If you go to a trader and say you want x part but any chance of a discount as Y is doing it cheaper but you would prefer to use them 99 times out of a hundred you will get a decent discount (or if not go to a different trader!). I would bet a whole 50p coin I could buy at the same price as a new member of MLR.
Obviously if you have built up a relationship with a trader you may do better and once again If I had that relationship built I would be able to buy at the same price.

I wouldn't quite say it was bollox to be honest.

I would say that I have saved over the £70 I paid in membership in the last 2 years, through discounts or using the forum as a means to build a relationship with a trader you otherwise wouldn't. This is just my opinion though :)

No indeed you probably have saved £70 many times over with the traders there. Its just I could have saved that same cash, and it not cost me £70 to do it. I have no problem with people being members there. Im sure its worth it with out the discounts but really you could get the discounts without being a member there. I guess it does make it easier to ask for that discount having that starting point of saying your an MLR member.

I wouldn't disagree with you there Nick. For someone like myself who tends to shy away asking for a discount though, its been worth it, whether its through discount or the group buys.

Thats the only reason I pay, once I feel it stops benefiting me, I wouldn't pay :)
