Hi Guys and Girls.....

As per my previous threads; i have been having a few problems with my Evo....

Today.....
O.k, took off rear (replaced) hub and ABS sensor and replaced with new OE parts....:) and thought...Ok..... Job Done....:D

Again drove 200 yds down the road and problem and sound occurred again??!!:wtf:

So, detached the ABS Sensor's on both sides. "Just to see what would happen"...... Nothing... Just ABS light on dash. Ok That was what i expected...

Double checked fluid level in AYC reservoir in boot and it was a tad low. (only just though) So topped up with the appropriate ATF fluid... So bled the system just to be sure.

Drove the car around the block... Approx 400yds... AYC light came on again!!!!!!!!:disgusted:

Opened the boot and the AYC reservoir had leaked massively!!!! (As in pumped out of the tightened lid):cry:

Im guessing the pump is working but there is some kind of blockage..... As it was pumping out of the tightened lid....

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated........

Thanks
Steve

When the system has been in use the oil level will drop, you should check the oil level first thing in the morning when cold to get an accurate reading.

To me it sounds like your AYC pump is failing. Have you sorted the wiring issues on your MUT port in the drivers footwell? If so, then short pins 1 & 4 to flash out the error codes. I'm guessing you'll get codes 82 or 83 (both mean failed pump or pressure switch).

Ok, thanks Mate :).

Fluid level checked this morning and now drained to correct level. "Wasn't that much to come out"

Checked the Fault codes earlier this afternoon...... It was 82... :( :(

Pump has now been removed and is with a friend of mine to see if he can re-furb / repair it for me..... Should know by early Sat morn..

Failing that...... Need a replacement.... Found a few on the net and they certainly aint cheap!!!.. Fingers crossed my mate can sort it.

I've also removed the rear hubs and have noticed 2 small crack's in the ABS Reluctor ring?!! :(.... This week just gets better!!!!

Spoke with Matt today @ UK Parts Direct - ABS Reluctor Rings - ABS Sensors and should have some news from him tomorrow regarding availability. They are currently being shipped over.... :) :D

Some companies are asking nearly £50.00 each for these??!!! Rip off Merchants!!!

Got a good deal through Matt though;... just have to wait now. I Believe he has previously spoken with El regarding these..

Will update you as soon as i know more.

Steve

Code 82 is pump fail mate. Usually means it's rotten out inside but sometimes can be refurbed.

Try Harry hockey Motorsport to see about getting it checked and re-furbed
