is lowereing a good idea?

hey people, looking at my evo 4 at stock ride height I reckon a 30 or 40mm drop would look spot on but I understand that any evo is quite a fancy bit of kit with a lot of thought put into its suspension and ride quality so I wonder,
do you guys endorse a small drop in ride height using lowering springs?

or is it just trouble and leads to poor handling?

well as long as it doesn't ruin the ride im sure ill still be able to clear speed bumps etc!

also in the near future I fancy swapping my immaculate powder coated o.z's for some nice gloss black alloys, a nice design with maybe a bit of a lip if anyone has any to swap!
here is the car as it stands now, I reckon a 40mm drop and nice black alloys will complete it!

Have lowered all my previous rides mate. Definately helps with cornering and looks great!
Alas cannot lower my 8 as the exit to my appartment parking is designed by idiots therefore front lip scraps even with stock height!!

Get it lowered and have the geometry done.

I would look into new shocks too or even coilovers as the old suspension will be pretty tired I'd imagine.

ill give the evo 6 wheel an eyeball ! Ill have to research the stud pattern too, I wonder if 200sx 14a or late 90's Honda wheels fit ??!!

Depends what your using it for too, just watch out as some people struggle to get the ride height correct with just springs. I think the rear sits low or the front, can't remember lol

Front sits low Dan on springs! Just take a look at mine!

It's worth getting coil overs as said ^ I wouldn't put springs on 17 year old shocks.
I'd look in in to ride quality of them as my cusco ones on my 4 have killed the ride but it handles superb,so think about what you want

ah supamario666 your name came up in a 2 hour conversation with simon, Norton tuning man yesterday!
he really opened my eyes to what power an old evo can make with a 5 ecu, 9injectors walbro 255 and 3 port boost solenoid!
I think he said you went out for a big drink then did hung over mapping the next day, something like that!!
