is it ok to drive with a dodgy icv

my icv is playing up I've just bought a new one and it won't be delivered for another week which sucks. When my car is warm its fine but when its cold it sputters and stalls kinda scary. when its warm like if i took it on the motorway will i be ok and not die?

had the same problem on my old e4 but not just my icv was playing up also my tps was as well. i just started the car let it warm up and all was fine after that apart from some times i would be sitting in traffic and the revs would go up and down on there own... but never had any problems and drove it like that for a while until i got both of them replaced
