is bigger better?

Hi all!

Thinking of getting new rims but what are the pros and cons of getting 18"? or is sticking to 17" better all info would be great cheers

Unless it was to fit over bigger brakes then I'd say 17's. that's just cos I don't like big wheels though.

Bigger wheels are a harsher ride imo performance wise 17 are optimum hence why most performance cars with decent performance have them, and shower cars come with 18" you also get less acceleration with bigger wheels admittedly not much difference but still

I prefer the 17's on the road as he profile is to small for my liking on the 18's. I suppose it depends on the use of the car.

It's not so much the wheel that's the issue, but the lower profile tyre you need to fit to keep the rolling radius the same. If you don't get it right then you could (as already posted) upset the speedo and acceleration.

Lower profile tyres tend to be a bit sharper to turn in, however they will also give a harsher ride and be less progressive when they give. Most people go up in alloy size purely for the looks.
