Hi guys, my names Jamie and i'm relatively new to this forum. I've owned my Evo 6 for about 6-7months now and got a problem with irratic idling.
Now this problem is intermittent, occuring more when the car is cold but sometimes when its warm. The rev counter reads between 700rpm and 1500rpm hunting up and down quite quickly. Whats interesting is the boost guage is also hunting inline with this? now i'm assuming it must be a vaccum problem somewhere?? The SAS recirulating system has been removed as i'm running a 4 branch manifold but all the vaccum hoses where plugged up. There is 1 other pipe i've found coming off the bottom of the inlet manifold which is open but not drawing air (suction) and the problem is not resolved by blocking this pipe??
Does anyone know if it could be something else or whether it sounds like a certain vaccum issue?? If it is a vaccum issue then is there a quick way of diagnosing where the leak is??
Thanks very much,
Jamie
