hi. well it depends what you want & how much you want to spend'
the 7 is good.
there are a few versions in the 8.
i would choose a model from the 8.
would love the MR FQ 400 but funds are no way near to that stage.

I;m not sure what the UK market is like so i'm wondering how far would 10,000 pounds get me? I would be looking for something lightly modified. MR FQ 400 is nice but way out of my price range.

you can get either but in that case i would say gor for a standard 7.
mod it yourself the way you want it & you will have some cash left aswell!

you can google it as a search & compare them both or go to pistonheads & see whats on offer.

There is a member selling a VII, but I think he is just not quite ready to let it go but worth a look. Give Gary a shout buddy and tell him El sent you.

hi mate welcome to the site.extreme is quite a good place to hunt for an evo, there based in birmingham, not sure of their web address but im sure youll find it with google. personaly id go for an 8,i think they look nicer(just my opinion),and id get a standard one, getting a moded one is ok but you dont no whos done the work and if theyve done it right,at least if its standard you can get the work done by someone you trust.stay away from the fq400 if you want a daily car, they are horrible to drive on normal roads, getting stuck in traffic is even worse,go for a 320,340,or 360 and just tune it to 400bhp.

Hey thanks for the advice guys. I'm definitely after an 8 as they really do look better; so i'm with u on that Andy.
I found some good stuff on Piston Heads. Nothing much on auto trader. I'm trying not to get ahead of myself but i'll keep looking. I'm currently driving an 97 bmw 318ti so am evo will be a big step up for me.

They're all good buddy. If you can afford it, then why not???

Just keep away from the X and everything will be fine buddy.

Evo stands for Evolution as I am sure you all know, the problem with the X is that it has not evolved from the IX, it has devolved from the Galant, the Carisma was a failure but know in hindsight I think it was more successful then the X.

How convenient, when the X was pushed out of the production line, Mitsi declared their withdrawal from the WRC and blamed the credit crunch. instead of putting their hands up and admitting that they had built a naf motor.

Once the Warranty epires we will start to hear the horror stories.
