Hi Guys. New to the forum. Been looking through and saw someone struggling with insurance. I use R H Insurance Specialists in Essex. I got mine Evo 4, fully comp, Mrs and Me, 60 days Euro cover, Roadside rescue, 5000 miles p.a - all for £210. Parked on my drive in the City of Leicester. Hope this helps anyone looking.

Wow!!! Thanks for that!

Also, might be an idea to start a Newbie thread.

Cheers,

alright mate and welcome to the clan;)
had a quick look at the site and seems to be for classic cars only, do you have any modifications on your car and did you declare them for that price as its unbelievably cheap..... my other half pays more to insure her 1.9td astra and she has a better rep sheet than me.

Too, too, too many Insurance threads.

I do wish everyone would use the search tool before posting a new thread. If all this Insurance info was on the same thread then I guess we would not have at least 30 odd other threads to have to trawl through:eek:

Must go, I think some one else is just about to post another insurance thread:rolleyes:

Thanks for the info picopro!

Another option

ha sorry started the ball rollin with the alarm thread ;)

No worries Diccon, I think you are falling over and tripping up with the insurers as you are a rare breed of punter, one that divulges all information:D

I do not think that cheap quotes are on the horizon if all and sundry start telling the companies what mods they are running.

I am lucky, I have a trade policy which allows me to drive any vehicle up to the value of 127k and up to 6 consecutive claims in a year to that value.

I do not have to list mods as long as they do not total that value which is hard but not that hard;)

Try going trade, you never know buddy.

A 12k max value may set you back around £900. Worth a look don't you think???

i think 630 is pretty good considering all mods listed plus if i do write the bugger off or it gets nicked its covered like for like so i get back exactly what i had, instead of what they think its worth.
with trade surely you have to have to be in the trade don't you?

Yes, for trade you have to be in trade but if you are changing cars that you have off and on then you can go in as a part time trader.

The premium you have been quoted for £630 is a good deal considering that you have listed mods. I think it is really good in fact.

Job done then I guess!

I have never heard of anyone getting stung but I will tell you that it is better to be safe than sorry! I prefer to be up front with them as they can really screw you over if they want to.

If the insurance company wants to go knit picking they really go to town on you.

No.
A friend off mine had a crash in his WRX which was fully loaded,
He hit a JEEP head on the WRX was total loss the JEEP took on slite damage,
When it came to the nitty gritty my mate took full liability,
He had most off the original stuff so when the engineer came to check there was no issue,
I'm not saying for one mint that you shouldn't declare the mods but if you forget something just have the original near by!!!!

You might get away with it for a small prang but do you really want them saying your not insured when you have a big off and cause £100k in damage?
Anyone would be stupid to not declare mods.
