Insurance...

To put this in to perspective, I insure a v8 rs4 for under £600 a year, a e36 m3 under classic for £220 a year.

The evo TME I have just placed a deposit on weighed in at £3000 on a limited 2000 mile policy! Mind, I have bettered that by £1500 and am expecting a call back tomorrow and the chap reckons he will get it under 700. For a 2000 mile policy, I knew they were expensive to insure but didnt expect that.

Can anyone recommend anywhere a bit more specialist or are these the general prices?

Age 28
licence 11 years
10 years ncb
no points
no convictions
no claims etc.

Cheers.

One of the cons is the fact that my ncb is being used on the rs4. The m3 didnt require any with it being under classic. Its not right how ncb is treated like a coupon, you should be assessed by your driving history. 10 years of claim free driving should be just that, not useable as such.

If I can get around 700 or under then, I guess that is fair to say its reasonable considering. I can get a traders policy for 2k a year covering all imports and british sports cars etc when my combined policies as they are with the TME on top will be about that.

Unsure as to what to do yet.

Iv just renewed my trades insurance....im 29 no points no convictions 4 years trade no claims and i pay £1423 thats with the interest of monthly payments. Its fully comp with high powered cars, imports and motorbikes up to 1000cc and i get protected no claims and £2million liability insurance.....i could have got a similar policy third party for £1000

This is the route I am considering at the minute, it just means I will have to actively buy and sell a minimum of 6 cars a year. Mind, the indemnity is only 15k but they advised they would only pay out book price anyway. Worst case, I might lose some should the audi suffer from a total loss but would lose a lot more should the TME suffer a total loss.

I have went for one. £1740 covers me for pretty much any car apart from American muscle cars. I will probably actively buy and sell (on a small scale albeit),now I have the opportunity. I have 3 personal cars to go on atm, one which I am definitely selling and the m3 is on classic cover that is already paid for and was only £200 for the year. I won't even bother cancelling that.

They will think I am taking the pi$$. In the first week I will be adding a rs4, and Evo TME. I have a x-type jag 2.5 v6 to go on too which is getting sold but the other 2 will stay as personal. I will have to flog a few every day motors to balance it.

The lads over on the ford rs owners club pointed me toward them. I have added the Evo to my traders now. They want to see pictures of the car, a copy of the log book and a picture of the engine bay which is bog standard apart from a blue samco hose. I wonder if they will moan about that? I'm beginning to wonder if this policy is going to be worth the hassle.

This!!!
No claims bonus should be on the person not tied to a car. If I choose to have more than one car that doesnt mean im now a crappier driver in one car than the other...
