Not sure if I'm allowed to post this but am sure will help everyone.

If you get a phone call from anyone saying they are a company engineer, or that they're checking your phone line and ask you to press #90 or #09 or any other numbers/digits, end the call without pressing any digits/numbers. A fraud company is using a device that once you press the digits, they can access your SIM card and make calls at your expense. Please forward this message to all who use a mobile phone (not sure if it works on landlines!).

Survey says "ehh ehh".
Bollox im afraid. It would work on some old PBXs as it is the short code to transfer a call to an outside line. But it does not really affect much here in the UK and certainly no mobile or PSTN line.

Why not press some other set of numbers and keep doing that every time the person on the other end tells you what to press, they will soon get ticked off and you can have a good time taking the mickey out of their frustration

I have to agree with Nick on this one, the old analogue phones might have got hit with a P3 but that is old school tech and died out a long time ago.
