Im new and my clutch has gone!

hi guys im new to evo 6 ownership and my clutch has gone! Any suggestions? Wont be running more than 350 and will drive daily. Will upload pics of my new love when running!

I noticed on another thread you had been launching the car. A standard clutch will die very quickly if you're going to be launching all the time so you need something a lot stronger, or replace with a standard clutch and don't launch.

I changed for a twin plate, might be a lot more expensive than a std. one but it should be fit and forget at your power.
If you were to fit another std. One and kill that as well it would have have wasted a good few hundred £s and be back to how you are now.
Especially if you are launching the car.

Hi danny, my first reply! I onow i have been launching but couldnt help myself! I wont be launching as much but dont know what clutch to go for. Theres a company called techniclutch that supplies the evo 8 flywheel and exedey clutch for about 300 are these any good?

I thing a twin plate may be overkill for me and poss out of budget!!

If it is a road car I would advise against padles or organic clutches, they are middle priced between std. And twin plate but turn the car in to a dog for every day driving.
I've learned that the hard way over the years.
A std. one and less launching would be a better option.

Haha thanks chbbysdad! Ok any suggestions where to go and get clutch from or just visit dealer for oem one! This must have been done over and over again on this forum. Any links to other threads or just go for standard with the eco 8 flywheel upgrade. What a way to spend sunday morning talking about clutches instead of driving!

I got my twin from Evotune, he must have other options.
Ross sport ? I've had a few bits from him at good prices.
Give them a phone and they will advise for your needs.
Its snowing here, keep away from the salt or donuts in Asda car park, decisions

i read that somewere, either way am getting a clutch this week so will let you know whuch way i go. But upgrade flyeheel to 240 maybe best option. And gna relax on launching!

dont touch a techniclutch!! i got a competition heavy duty clutch and cover with an ACT streetlite flywheel for around 600 and its not to bad as a daily driver

I had the Exedy and ACT organic on my old VIII and the Exedy was an utter pain, not suited to a daily driver at all, you couldn't do a smooth start, you had to launch it or put up with a lot of judder. The ACT was pretty close to standard feel though.

Hi andy, i was lioking at apackage from techniclutch which has an exedey clutch and 240 mm oem flywheel. They dont manufacture these so should be ok? If not ross sport or evotune as recommended by chubby

The ACT organic isn't a particularly hard-core clutch, just handles more torque than normal but still drives ok.
