I have just installed some cams in my evo 8 they are suppose to be gsc s1 cams but had no marking on them I have fitted them with adjustable pulleys they are both set to 0 and I have dialed the cams in to standard timing markd but when the car in running the cams are very lumpy and if you stop at a junction the car stalls could I just retard the pulley back a couple of degrees to stop it stalling till I take it for a remap

With high lift cams the car will idle a bit lumpy, dont think it should stall tho....did you check the cams were turning freely after clamping them down? Apart from the obvious lobes like, how does it run when driving? Normal or miss-firing, does it pull the same? Did you use any timing tools?

Yeah the car runs spot on when driving we lined all the cam marks up and them after rechecked them a couple of times and it was all lining up

I've heard that stalling is a known issue issue when putting in more aggressive cams, but it can be mapped out like you said. I have absolutely no idea if you can temporarily fix it by retarding it a few degrees, but in my totally novice opinion I don't see there being any underlying issue here :)

I wouldn't be driving it until it's been mapped.
