Hungry for Evo....

Hi,

My name's Luke, current owner of a Toyota Celica 190, but now 26, feeling I want more power and a turbo, with an Evo being one of my all time fave cars, thought I would sign up and get some more info on them, as I am looking to buy one.

Hopefully looking to upgrade within a year.....so just looking for some ideas of what to look out for etc. Would love an Evo 8, but at the minute could possibly only afford an Evo 5, which isn't a problem as I still love this car but debating whether to just save longer for an 8. Unfortunately this car has to be my every day car....so I'm just gona have to face facts that my already high fuel costs are going to get higher!

So just saying hi, feel free to say hi back and any advice or ideas are welcome!

Welcome along pal, I use my 8 as a daily drive but I don't have far to go to get to work, and yes you have the right info fuel cost go north indeed but worth it, the V is a nice choice too but ultimately go for the one you will be happier with

i have an e8 as my daily driver, but same as fq-craigus my work is not too far. in my opinion if you want an 8, hang on a little longer and get the one you have your heart set on. it took me another 5months or so to save up for my e8,

but was well worth it!!

we have a fresh low milage evo 5 just registered so be the 1st uk owner, it comes with 6months tax 12mot

how much isit? any pics? i am loving the 5 and 6 atm, seen some nice ones for sale....anything to look out for?

They make a good family car right? So a good investment for the future

oh and i have to drive 200 miles a week (20 miles each way).....so it would make the journey that much nicer....any problems with the 4G63 engine? I know the newer turbos seem to be the obvious modification a lot of people go for. Also, where's the best place to buy parts? Finding celica parts was difficult at first but eventually had a lot of ebay shops and websites to look around....

I have just recently puchased an EVO 9 and had to wait about 8 months for the right one.

Definately hang on until you find the right one

Yes i would like to sit in an evo 8 haha! Where abouts you from then? U in luton? I have seen a red one at night time, but only the once....?! Other than that not really, more just nobheads in fiestas with different colour wheels and a loud exhaust....

Wud defo like to see the 8 in action though! U got any pics?

Well I live L-Town, but mainly in Dunstable, the mrs lives there and i just hate luton :\ u ever in dunny? They still doing the wednesday night meets? I never go to em but good to see modded cars together ay!

I'm not in Dunstable too much unless for work in the van. Yes Luton is a dive I'm looking at getting out of the area completely soon. Yeah the Wednesday meet still goes ahead, some impressive cars there now, there's a old shape civic turbo I wouldn't mess with looks like
A drag car lol. You should come down and say hey, I'm a regular and Faz also ces down too, and I should get Steve back out on the road soon too as his Evo is gathering dust

Where they meeting now? it was at hatters way retail for a time but that seems to have changed as i havent seen em there for a while....

Either b and q on hatters way or the new multi storey at the train station it moves depending on police and weather

Multi storey at station haha! i parked there last week, **** me like a tunnel, great sound in there! All them modded cars must be like a bomb gone off!

Yer cops spoil all the fun! I will probs come down some time soon then!

Yh the police didn't care until some pikey started on a cop and that was it, there backs were up and we had to go. Yh does sound a bit mad especially when oz turns up with his golf now running a system around 156db

I'll be there tomos no doubt, there's nothin on tv worth stayin in for

Like i say im a busy boy this week, next week is looking likely though. Whats thie golf running then? Or just a loud exhaust?

It's built for car audio so got a crazy system in it, it's a yellow gti. Well it happens each week a load of my mates go there so I'm usually there
