As per title, thought this was on engine size?

My Golf and Evo due renewal at same time;

2.0 Golf GTI - £250 per year
Evo IX GT - £220 per year.

I would have expected the EVO to be more or the same at least?

Gt is an import. If you had a IX mr fq 360 like my mate did then youd be paying over £400

It is calculated on their fuel type and CO2 emissions if registered after March 2001 (engine size pre March 2001).

As Lee pointed out, the GT is an import, so I would be guessing it is registered as a Private Light Goods (PLG on the registration form) vehicle, which is taxed at a cheaper rate :)

Yep my GT is on as a PLG but Golf as a private car.

Engine size and CO2 is a scam, we should all pay the same
