HKS replacement air filter

I ordered a new foam filter for my HKS induction kit (inside the mushroom cone) from Indigo and it arrived today.

The old one was looking very worn and not sure when changed, was very dirty when I removed it.

New one now in but wanter to know if these are 'dry' filters or if they need a squirt of filter oil or not?

Reason I ask as on my old car (non-evo) the foam needed lubricating.

All packaging in Japanese so no idea with the HKS stuff! At the moment its in dry.

My understanding is lubricating helps trap more dirt.

Anyone know?

On a car with a MAF i have never been keen on oiled filters as it can contaminate the MAF and trash it as far as im aware the filter you have is not oiled

no don't put oil on ur filter it will suck it into ur turbo and uc it up!!! :shock:
they are dry filters

u can get sprays from hks but they are cleaning fluids to clean the filter not lub it.
only with na cars (naturally asspirated) you need to put a little in but not everytime you change the filter, only once or twice a year

the same applies with the na cars as with the turbo with the cleaning of the filter

Nearly 30 quid for a bit of foam does seem a tad pricey to be honest but done now.

Decide to go for blue for a change lol
