have got hold of one of these, as when i had my 4 engine in. it stalled all the time when pushing it hard and then slowing down rapidly at junctions etc.
i did some research and believe its down to my bov and induction kit.
am due to having an 8 engine fitted and don't want this problem anymore.
just wondered if anyone here has one fitted and does it work???
also what have you got fitted to your car with it? as the instructions for the eids says it is meant to work with standard engine and ecu only (disclaimer)

They are not needed if the base idle is setup correctly then you should have no issues a vta bov will not help but i have fitted loads to Evos with the stock maf in place and never had any stalling issues

the 8 engine i bought was with all auxcills so gather it will have the 8 idle valve fitted? so perhaps it will be in better nick.
i had my mechanic play with the 4 one a few times. but never seemed to solve the problem for long....
do you think i should see if the 8 one works any better before i get him to wire the eids in then....

The E8 iscv will not fit your E4 wiring loom you will need to use the throttle body or intake manifold off your E4 on the E8 engine

Was he using Evoscan or a Mut tool to park the stepper motor when setting the base idle ?

have no idea. when i told him about the problem he said it prob needs cleaning? did'nt relise it was set up like that and by the sounds neither does he?!?
live in the sticks so don't have acces to any evo magicians i'm afraid.
my mechanic is a friend who does work for very reasonable prices. he has a bit of rally pedegree but unfortunatly it is more on vauxhalls and imprezas. and does admit to me he is still learning with evos. (hence the questions) i have just got myself evoscan and cable. so if i give him this do you think he will any idea what to do with it??? it is it easy to explain or is it quite a complex process? was going to take my car up to indigo to get it mapped after christmas. unless you now of a better place. how about you el?? nuneaton is'nt to far from me. and i could visit my gran on the way as she lives in witherly

I agree with Jamie Diccon, you have the EvoScan and what's more, you have Jamie that will be able to guide you through it which means that you will save fuel money coming down to me or going to Ant at Indigo which is why we are here in the first place.

The EvoScan is a good piece of kit and if you know what you are doing with it you WILL get places buddy.

was going to get it mapped for more power... as it is currently on a 4 ecu and will be replacing it with a 6 ecu. so thought it might be worth getting it set up by someone with a bit of knowledge? also will have 255 fuel pump fitted by then aswell.
