hi guy`s as above, last friday my car started to idle at 1.7k spoke to a fella off the mlr at the jap show on sunday with a black 8 or 9 maybe? with red mud flaps ,didn`t get his name , he show me where the idle screw is and the controller is. So ive turned the screw in and got the tick over down to 1k but don`t want to go any more with it as its starting to get tight, am i better to reset the idle to want it was and then take out the controller clean it replace and hope that work`s,or then adjust the screw, don`t seem to have any other problem`s since turning the idle screw down but as im not 100% if it can corse any other problem`s i thought i`d ask. still tick`s over at 1,5k when cold! thanks any info will be useful. :)

It will tick over at about 1.5 when cold that's not a problem as engine is getting up to temp but I think it should be as low as 800 rpm when warm

Yeah you need to use evo scan to park the stepper you can't just do what you've done.if it's just started to do it then I'd look for another cause

I've just had the control valve out, gave it a clean. Turn the screw out 2 turn's started the car is was warm and ticked over at about 1.5k. Turn the screw 1 turn in and it dropped to 1k just under and is no where near tight like before? Check all the pipe's cant see anything off. Did have the car mapped Friday night but spoke to him and he didn't touch the idle and to be fair it use to sit high when stopping at light some time's? I thought that mite be the bov tho. Will go out in a bit see what happening. Cheers :)

as said, try cleaning the icv and failing that you need to do a proper base idle reset which will need a computer hooking up.

Are you sure the base Rom isn't different or that the timing wasn't changed at idle.is strange that it's happened after changes in the map

Don't no mate? That's what i thought but like i said he said he didn't touch the idle? What's weird is that it wasn't doing it dueing the map when pulling over etc.i have to chec the pipe's again to be sure! Anyway been for a drive and all seem's fine. Tick over is now at 1k with is cool it being a 4 after all :)
