hid hi/low kits

looking at buying this:

its alot cheaper than i have seen it in the shops for. is there anyone in the know that can tell me if its any good. plus is 6000k just the colour of the light, not the brightness rating? as i have seen kits upto 12000k.

The thing with buy it now or best offers is that if you stay within a 10% mark down of the asking price, you are usually in with a chance of winning the item.

i paid £90 for my h4 hi/lo about 8months back possibly,,

and yeah even with super brilliance and those upgraded bulbs etc in they were still crap,,

wish i'd of put hid kit in when i first bought it,,,

says on the page The failure rate of the bulb and ballast is less than 0.5% and Long Life up to 10 times the life of an ordinary Halogen bulb or more than 3000 hours.
but i have heard if you flash them on and off fast, ie flashing a freind etc. the bulbs don't like it and are prone to failure?

Maybe that is the case I'm not too sure but I also know a guy who was selling the kits and he had to stop because he had to many people comin back with blown bulbs

Dude i`ve got 600k HID on my Lexus and never blown a bulb once neither had the previous owner. Your mates might have a grounding problem or the pack they bought for their cars were not the right ones just some suggestions maybe worth a nose around for your m8s might save them some money in the long run

I flash peeps all the time to let them out and say Hoollaaaa to my friends my bulbs ares till 100%.

well never heard the flashing thing at all,,, sure a flash is just the same as putn yours on hi/beam and thats what hi/low was designed for,,,,,,

pretty much plug and play, well mine where anyway,, just need to connect the bulbs to ballasts,, find out where u want to put/hide the ballasts,, earth them and mine came with a positive wire you hook up to positive battery terminal

there was a how to wire up thread on mlr i read a while ago. and it was mentioned they don't like being flashed on and off. but it seems you guys have had no probs.
the wiring up sounded pretty complicated, drilling holes to fitt bulbs etc... so maybe an old thread/old model of hid?
