Hi im Ashley recently got a black Evo 3 it my first one really happy with it. It a great car pictures will be on tomorrow just need a bit of help well need two parts if any one can help i need and exhaust down pipe and a drivers side front window lifter if any 1 can help here my number 07535273841 thanks

I've had lots of 3s and never had any issues with the rings. The engine is bullet proof apart from the crank walk which is preventable by not dipping the clutch on cold start as mentioned.

Your gonna love that evo 3 if you ever get depressed with it or maybe fancy a change the i will have it off you.

Hello again pal.
crank walk can be ientified by using a dial gauge. all you need to do is place it on the end of the crank and hold it in place with your leaft hand. get a pry ba rin your right hand and place it behind the crank and try to lever it forward. if the reading is any where over .3mm then you have it. if you dont have a dial then use a small piece of card board and try to make sure that if the crank moves you know exalty where on the piece of card board it moved to. check that piece of card board up agains a ruler and you will know.

If it is reading over .3mm then it is not the end of the world. you will just hae to take it easy until you can deal with it.

Dave buddy, you have taken the time to explain something has alread been done by Sponners on another thread. Your's is a little more long winded LOL but I will give an A+ for effort and the insight to add the bit about the cardboard which is a trick that is used to this date and I used this exact trick on an 04 Micra a week or so ago to ascertain whether or not the chain tensioner had stretched as gauging it was too difficult due to lack of space.
