Hi some damage looking for advice

Good to meet you all, hope some of you on here might be able to give me some advice

I have an Evo 10 GSR FQ300 SST 2011.

I hit a small animal when on a dual carriagway outide lane, at 70mph and have a crack on bumper thats mainly underneath and intercooler has moved back a little,...but the dealeer is telling me, new bumper, painted, new intercooler plus possible other radiator plus paint and labour...£1500 to £2000 and think its a try on...but have a £900 ex on insurance policy so looking at any other way to get it fixed..but properly...car is drivable and no loss of performance and temp running okay so i don't think the intercooler is damaged ?

£900 Excess :disgusted: who u insured with?

Think you would be best to find out what is actually damaged and what will definately need replaced. If its as simple as the bumper being repaired a good body shop will be around £300

Ouch indeed !

It Churchill and discovered that they quote with a £350 voluntary excess as the norm as its same on my other car insured with them ! Not from today though !

You want to pull it apart yourself, takin the bumper and inter cooler off is an easy job and aource the parts yourself and fit, dealers don't try it on the just rip you off always way too expensive

Where about are you in the country? Someone might be able to recommend somewhere to take it to see if the intercooler is damaged or not, likewise you should get the bodywork cheaper than that too. BTW I don't think a damaged intercooler would reflect on the temp gauge.

Thanks for the reply, I was told the power would drop if the intercooler was damaged or engine wouldn't start ?

I am in the East Midlands and if can find a good body and a good garage who know what they are doing with Evo's then would try them for sure
