Looks very nice. Red isnt my colour of choice but thats just me.
Why do they need to sell it this week is one question straight off.
Other than that just the normal checks. Being pretty much new there shouldnt be much wrong so anything that is outside normal wear and tare may be of concern.

he is a trader who works from home an only has space for 5 cars which he had 6 when i went.
it looks like it needs pads and discs all round,he said he will throw in a service in the deal, but i thought the clutch was slipping as when i put my foot down from a standing start it seemed to rev to 4000 before biting
is this of concern or is it cos of 4x4 system
cheers

Ive less knowledge of the newer evos (too much money to rally them) but on the older ones the clutch was a consumable. In that it was expected to be replaced often. That didnt make them cheap mind!
At 32k miles I would expect that is about time for a swap. Again pads and especially disks aint cheap. Expect £1k+ for clutch by Mitsi and probably similar for disks and pads all round. Cheaper at an independant.

combined with the clutch and brakes i think ill give it a miss...hence why so cheap perhaps

Very wise choice!
They havent got chocolate gear boxes for starter, and then they are simply better ;)

Which version are you thinking?

Thanks Nick.

I have NO idea - that's my problem.

Any suggestions would be very welcome... Got about £10 - 12k to blast on one of these babes.

Cheers in advance.

You could get a very nice 6, an average to good 7 or at a push an 8.
The styling changed quite a bit after 6. A lot more subtle. Depending on your thoughts on the looks Id either get a real nice 6 or stretch myself and get an 8.

And my name isnt and never has been ;)

£10k to £12k will get you a nice 8 at the moment with the market the way it is

Sounding (and being) naive here, but whats the differences between the 6,7 and 8 ?

I'm in Scotland and finding Evo's for sale up here is like looking for a needle in a haystack ! :(

I can imagine it will be a bit harder to find them. Dont let that make you buy the wrong one for you though.

6s were the last of the very extravigant styling. 7s and 8s were a smoother style.
Under the bonnet there isnt a huge amount of difference. There are improvemnts with each evolution. The 8 has the better AYC and a 6 speed box which do make a difference.

Nice one Nick, But with Arnold Clark they will bring the car to the nearest local garage. FOC I think.
Dumfries is a trek but Carlisle is like 180 miles from here.

Will do Nick.

The salesman tells me its 308 brake ..

It's not an FQ but has been chipped de-catted etc..

And tomorrow's the test drive day !

12.30 (at a mutually arranged meeting point with the dealership)

Let's see if Evo's are as non Neddish than scoobs ;)

Maybe time for a leap of faith guys.
