hesitation

hi every 1 plz can any 1 help me, i've got a hesitation on my evo 8 FQ330, if you accelerate hard in 1st,2nd,3rd,4th,5th it seems to be fine but once in 6th you can feel a slight power loss- thats driving hard, when driving normaly 1st and 2nd are ok but then every gear after you accalerate the car seriously holds back and pops with a really bad engine jilt. I thought it might be spark plugs or ht leads so i changed them and it is still the same now i'm thinking maybe boost control but i have a boost gauge fitted by mitsubishi out of FQ360 and it's working fine boosting arround 1.4 to 1.5 bar so i'm really confused. Plz can any 1 make head nor tail of this, maybe someone experiencing same problem thanks.

that sounds similar to what my IV had, if i accerated hard throught the gears or gradually it was fine but if i was doing 30-40mph in 3rd or 4th and then accerate, it would jolt for a extra 10mph and then be fine.

it turned out to be detonation on one of the spark plugs and cylinders cause by a faulty injector.

what have you gapped the new plugs to?

a mate had a similiar problem last winter on a 3gsr as i remember & it turned out to be he's actuator sticking. he was running 1.6bar which was alot. after that never had the same prob again but he did crash it in pieces, sadly.
not sure if it thats your case tho'

hi m8 thanks 4 your help, had a new turbo fitted about a year and a half ago so i will look into that thanks again 4 your help hope i can sort it out soon really miss the performance cheers.

Hi Rob, I'd still check the gaps for pece of mind

I cant tell by your description if your talking about a missfire or fuel cut.

Where by in north wales are you? may be able to take a look at it for you.
