Thrust bearing should be changed as part of the clutch change anyway.
What was the problem you had ? Slipping clutch ?

What clutch are they supplying and why is he saying 2.5k for the car ??

a clutch kit is about £500 to supply and if you said £500 absolute max to fit it, plus why does he want it for 2.5k i'd say get it back and take it else where

That's with a new clutch as well yea ?

Standard practice is to change the clutch plate, bearing and pressure plate all at the same time as it all comes as a kit. And for the amount of labour involved in changing the bearing or clutch it's always all changed at the same time.

What's the problem with the bearing and what makes you think it needs changing ? :)

no mate the new clutch is in seems that the thrust bearing from a brand new clutch kit was knackered and as i bought the clutch my self the garage are saying to fix the problem i would have to pay to get the thrust bearing replaced

well if you've purchased the clutch kit i can see their point but things are never as straight forward as they seem

lack of power and misfiring i think it could be the coil pack maybe as new spark plugs have been fitted
