Driving my 6 today when came to junction in neutral revs dropped and cut out. Driving fine with foot on throttle.wont tick over in neutral revs just fall.any ideas anyone? Thanks
Could be a couple of things, Idle Control valve is the first thing that springs to mind. Does it do it when it's just started up or only when it's warm? does it pull through the gears ok?
Nope not difficult to fit, may find that it requires just a clean or setting up if that is indeed the fault. Have you checked for boost/induction leaks? If not I'd recommend that first (I think this is unlikely as it's driving fine). How much throttle is required to maintain idle?
Yeah .Jamie at evotune mapped it etc.370bhp. He's a pro. Now that I think about it before i had idle problem when I drove downhill no throttle it used to make a puffing noise. Hard to describe. Would that point towars idle speed sensor? Cheers andy.
This started happening to me in my 5 and we looked at idle control, maps, AFR, resetting ECU etc etc and nothing solved it. If you're stationary, and dip clutch does it cut out? If so get clutch and thrust bearing checked ASAP.
Mine done this when i had a vent to atmophere dump valve on and still had an airflow meter on?? I was told to buy a standard evo 9 recirc valve, not done it since but the noise is too quiet for me ha ha
