Hey guys, I bought my first Evo/jap car about 3 weeks ago, still smiling now! Anyway, I don't know much about these kind of cars and much about running a big turbo engine so I wondered if you could give me some tips or advice that will help me keep her running sweet! She's a 55 plate Evo 8 gsr 260 in silver with 44k and full Mitsubishi service history, the diff was changed at 33k! There's a k and n typhoon induction kit with a recirculating dump valve, there's also a polished metal pipe I can see down near the turbo (not sure what that is) lol! I think that's about all the work that's been done, im going to buy a decat pipe this weekend and il eventually look for a remap when I have the funds! Iv only got pics on my iPhone ATM so I don't think I can post any up? Still getting used to a very stiff/firm gearbox (a nightmare trying to get it in reverse or 1st).

Hiya and welcome along :)

If you download tapatalk you can upload photos that way from your iphone :)

Make sure it's serviced regulary, use a high octane fuel, treat her sweet and she'll do the same for you :)

Their not that hard to look after to be fair, but when something goes wrong it's usually a costly process to get sorted lol :)

Cheers for the welcome guys! Yep high octane fuel....just to add to my already crazy petrol costs! Haha how much would I be looking at for a remap, I'd like to take it upto about 325bhp to maintain It as a daily driver? I known there's a specialist in Lincoln? Is the whole tricky getting it into first a normal thing? I have to try and select another gear most of the time to get it to pop in?

Nick (NR autosport) is probably one of THE biggest evo tuners in the country...

yeh thats what iv heard and by looking at the prices for parts etc they seem really reasonable! i was told they do a package for the 260 that costs £1000 and takes it upto 360....not bad for the money!
