Help required please.

I bought a 2000 Evo 6 GSR japan import just over 2 years ago, I'm not too clued up on the mechanical side of things but the bodywork, interior and under the bonnet was mint, I was also given a 3 month warranty. I work abroad and don't spend much time at home hence the car is in the garage for 11 months of the year apart from when the wife takes it for a quick run out once a month. I made a big mistake not checking if the car was undersealed which it wasn't and last year it only just passed it's MOT due to corrosion on the chassis which was repaired by welding in order to pass. Last week it was taken in for this years MOT and unfortunately this time it failed as the chassis had become more corroded. I've been in touch with the Mitsubishi main dealer regarding a new chassis but they seem to not want to do it and the estimated price they gave me (£7,200 + VAT) was probably more than the car is worth. So my question is does anyone know of a reputable company who could do such a job and if anyone has a rough idea of how much it would cost? My wife keeps pestering me to get rid of it but it's my pride and joy and have told her she will go before my Evo.
I live near Sleaford in Lincolnshire and would really appreciate some feedback especially if anyone knows of somewhere within a 75 mile radius.

and does it need a whole NEW chassis....if so id sell it and get a new one...you wont get much for it though

I wouldn't sell it, you're passing on a safety hazard to someone else. NR Autosports is in Lincoln, Nick is very knowledgeable about Evo's and i'm sure will be able to help or point you in the right direction.

i've welded quite a few cars over the years and that price is way ott.
i'd be more than happy to take a look mate and i'll guarantee it wont be a fraction of the cost you have been given.

Nick at NR Autosports is the guy that looks after my Evo, he has done a few mods, does all the servicing and arranges the MOT, it was him gave the info about the chassis but unfortunately he said he can't do it and wasn't sure of anyone that could.

Nothing wrong in selling it aslong as condition/state of car is made clear to buyer ......hence my comment on he won't get much for it but rally teams or project hunters would take a punt on it

Spoke to Matt at MG Auto's but he's not interested in taking up the job as said it would take up too much time on the ramp which is fair enough..........search goes on.

We have one in at the moment with the same issues. We have a in house fabricator, ex prodrive . Hes the man for the job. Impossible to quote with out seeing it.

Hi mate, bit far away but I believe Rich at RG Motorsport in Kent did a massive amount of chassis cutting and replacing on a VI recently
