help needed , engine light flash

hi, just got a evo 7 , it as a hks dump valve that is leaking aparently because its got a very crazzy idle , i checked all the vacum pipes and intercooler etc , with the car stopped if i rev to 2500 and let off the engine light flashes once really fast , if i drive the car on boost soon as the dump valve dumps engine light flashes again and under top end boost engine light flashes at about 6000rpm , i traced the car on old owners and find out this car got a cel on knock thing on it , another thing is every time i boost i get a big smell of peotrol in the cabine like its on my nose and the car dont pop at all , sas system was removed and some how i think all the vacum pipes beind the inlet are all messed up and wrong conected .. dont know what to do ..i know it looks like alot but its a nice car iand am up for a fight to get it running nice .. i orded a recirculating valve ( am getting rid of the hks ) and some brand new cilicone hoses to replace the lot ..what should i do , is the car knocking? bad map? running lean?

Could phantom knock, mate of mine had that on his evo9 but that was running 500bhp

I know alot of evos sometimes just don't like atmospheric dump valves. Quite often suffer with stalling issues.

Your best bet would be a dual port bov. They recirc first then dump atmosphere and recirc at full boost

DONE , had a heat shield ratling and was causing the knock sensor to play , sorted
