Got a miltek 3inch on my car the other day just sometimes vibrates off a cusco bar which is fitted under the exhaust to improve the handling. Problem is sometimes it vibrates on the bar is there anyway to stop it vibrating just feels like the exhausts moves and I was just wondering is there anyway to stop it moving?

yea simple answer to that is to just put a washer or 2 in to pack the cusco brace down a few millimeters

just unbolt the brace insert a washer to suit the diameter of the bolts and the re-attach :)

The bar is bolted sideways onto the car so the washer won't move it down it will move it forward a towards the engine. My concern is that if it keeps catching the bar eventually I would need a new pipe.

trouble is if its the downpipe knocking before you get to the flexi the im not supprised it rattles cos on early cars the downpipe is bolted ridgid to the engine so the slightest movement in the engine the yea the exhaust will move with it.

id advise against polly engine mounts cot that will be expencive and will also transfer a lot of the engine vibration through the car body and so will be noisy and irretating.

id put a mark on the pipe where it touches then remove the bar and then with a hammer and block of wood just gently form a slight flat spot in the exhaust just enough to get it to clear the bar. :)

I just got it serviced cam belt and 3mm lash adjusters and you know how you want it to be spot on when you spend money on the car

ah thought you had an early car

in that case correct no flexy which is good cos that means there is room for adjustment.

take car to local exhaust centre chuck them a tenner and ask them to give it a tweek cos the downpipe will twist from side to side.

used to get the same trouble on my VII if it wasnt quite in the right place :)

no wont damage it but people will laugh at you as you drive by lol :)
