Have an evo 4 and recently been cutting out and starting up straight after?
All my dash lights come on, and the car kinda stalls itself and comes back to life? It is never in high boost, the 1st time it happened was up hill about 20mph, 2nd + 3rd time motorway about 70mph and just then about 20mph going through country lanes?!
This has only sarted happening since my restricter has come off but is getting more regular now? My tapetts also sounding very tappy but oil levels are correct?!?!

Any ideas?!?!?

Fanks xxxx

Sounds like you de restricter could be playing up. Where did you buy it, as some of the cheap ones on ebay are known for playing up? With regards to the tappets sounding noisy, when did you last have the oil changed. I change my oil between 2500-3000 miles, but up to 4000 miles is ok, as the evo 4's really need good oil in the as much as possable. The other guys should be here to help soon too.

Its cutting out so irregulary as wel its hard to form any form of pattern in speed, revs road surface or anything! lol! xx

fanx, someone said it could be my boost so hopefully during this week i will be fittin a boost gauge to the car to see what its boostin at- What is it ment to be boostin at tho? It has some HKS turbo on it tho not quite sure what one! Will that affect the boost difference or should it still be boostin the same bar?

the cutting out seems to have stopped but i just seem to be having problem after bloody problem with it at the moment! Its off the road mroe than what its on the road!

There's a noise coming from somewhere in the engine bay but its not actual engine noise- sounds like tappets but its not? Have inspected that! someone said it could be my alternator or somewhere near that is where noise is coming from?!?!

Im starting to believe the skyline would be a better choice at the moment! x
