help Evo 4 cuts out when cold

As the title suggests really i picked it up last week and it idles perfectly when hot, but when its cold it won't idle and cuts out whilst being a bit lumpy. any ideas? any help greatly appreciated

Cold start issue.
Does it smell alot of fuel on cold start?

yeah quite a bit. what would be the potential cause?

You're most likely flooding it. Until it's warmed up. Has the map be played with ie different ecu? Was it doing this before you bought it?
Can try flashing the codes out via OBD port

i honestly couldn't say what its had done. the only thing i know of for sure is its got a 3"exhaust and decat also a different air filter. i couldnt say if it has anything else done. it doesnt show any faults up on the dash and it was doing.it when i bought it.

first thing to check is see if u have any error codes stored, then go from there....

i had the same problem as your self with one of my silver evo 4's but it didnt throw any error codes it turned out to be the ISC valve that is located on the right hand side of the throttle body under the intake pipe that connects to the throttle body.. i ended up replacing the full throttle body due to couldnt find a ISC valve on its own and wella sorted

just wanted to say thanks for the advice i have sorted it out now though it was just a tiny vac leak from the little pipe to the re-circ valve.
