Hello everyone,

Brand new to this Forum, Currently driving a Toyota Starlet GT turbo, Had it for a couple of years now.

It's up for sale though and im looking at getting an Evo V for my next car, Don't really know much about Evo's to be honest so thought I would sign up and get researching :)

Hopefully I'll have one January/February time next year.

Been getting insurance quotes for them when im 21 with 4 years ncb which is only next month and they really don't seem to bad considering the car and always liked the looked of the V's

This is how my Starlet did look a couple of weeks back before I returned it to standard :( just for anyone that may like to see it..

Welcome,

Love the Starlets, I have a modded one sitting on my drive too as well as an EVO, non turbo though.

They say a little knowledge is dangerous so dont be put off by what I am about to say as I am far from an expert!!

I'm sure I read a while back that a IV or a VI is a better option as V's suffer from crank slip but that may have been an isolated post/problem.

Do some reaerch and if you find any links to cars you may be interested in pop it up and people far more knowledgeable than me can guide you!

Where you from? Get your location updated as we maybe able to point you to local traders or know people nearby selling

Invisible - its the 4 that is most likely to suffer crank walk but if looked after and regularly checked then it should be fine.

Op - Welcome to the mad house. As said update location so we can point you in the right direction for local help if needed. And ask any questions as someone will know the answer. Even posting up potential car adds will help.

mjc - relax lol. I have a 4 myself and have had no issues regarding crank walk and am fully aware other models have suffered. I am not trying to put anyone off buying a 4. I'm just correcting invisible lol

Thanks Rob,

MJC - Not trying to dis any models. I did say in my post a little knowledge is dangerous and I stand to be corrected so just to do your research before you buy.

Hey,
I have a low mileage 9 which now needs 4Ks worth of work doing to it basically 'cause I'm incapable of spotting a lemon and bought with my heart rather than my head!

Good luck Op with the Starlet sale, I maybe in touch although with above bill pending on my EVO and Christmas I cant see it being imminent!

As said before if you find any links and want some guidance post up :)
