I'm from the United States and am looking to build an Evo 5 clone from a USDM Mirage. I'll probably be on here quite a bit looking for parts as the Evo wasn't sold here until 2003. I plan on building the car with all OEM parts as well. I run a small shop and I plan on having this as a shop demo car.

I plan on taking pictures all the way through the build and taking a few videos. I'll be posting up a build thread once i start getting everything going. One question I do have, is anyone aware of a company that makes seat brackets to ft aftermarket seats? I'm not sure I want to run with stock Evo V/VI seats in my car but I'm having trouble finding brackets. I can make my own but it would be nice not to have to.

Well I found my car. Picked up a 1.5 auto mirage for $300 the other day. The owners said it didn't run. A quick look under the hood showed that the alternator tensioner was missing and no tension was on the belt (not that I told them any of this). I towed it back to my shop, grabbed a tensioner out of my box of spare parts, jump started it, and it runs beautifully.

I know all the local junk car buyers. They all know if they find any DSM's or Mirage's to scrap to call me first.
