Hi, guys just joined this forum today because I have found myself in a postion where I simply have to buy an Evo.

Not really up to speed on what types of Evo are out there, but have a rough idea so just looking for advice about what sort of car I could get for £3k ish.

Plus any useful tips on insurance companys for a 26 year old with 3 points would be great.

Anyway hope to chat to some of you in the future.

hi buddy im bias .

it got to be a evo 4 , and you can get one for around 3k . but try and get one with a later engine , ie one from a evo 5 on if you can as the 4 lump is a little fragile in comparison .

i dont know much about the evo 1 2 or 3 but they have a great following and some good power to weight figures .


it really depends what you want from the car ?? and remember they are high maintenance cars .


but carry on doing your home work and check out insurance first

you have cash and there mat be someone who wants to sell. id recomend buying a car that someone knows though, dont buy the first car on impulse ask our advice

no worries and i use pace ward insurance

They re not far off 300 from standard so you should get a one lightly modded with that power.

As said already get a 4 with a later engine because then 4 engine can suffer crank walk

To be honest I wouldn't fear a 4 with a 4 engine I had one for a year and gave me little or no trouble.
