Hey folks, Evo owner just signed up from Alberta, Canada.
This forum seems more focused for tuning info 4-9 which is what I'm looking for.
I had an Evo1(got rear-ended) now I have an Evo4.

I've got 90k km on a 96 cn9a
mods
HKS racing suction and superflow
Blitz DD blow off
Blitz EBCid
Fujitsubo 3" cat back

I was told it was remapped but I'm not sure yet. I haven't dug out the ecu yet to see if it was changed.

How much did you pay for the 4 if you don't mind me asking?

I got it for $8400 Canadian tax included(5300 GBP). I bought it off an importer who had already shipped it over for himself. So it was an easy sale as he had already done all the customs paperwork.
The average price for 4's right now is around $10000 landed (6300GBP). Most of them have at least 100k km on the clock.
the ratio is probably 8-2 for guys importing WRX's vs Evo's over here.

Yeah my prices are after all shipping, customs broker, and taxes so that's not too bad.
The jdms are still cheaper and less kms than any comparable domestic cars here.
The Evo1 I had was originally imported for about $13000cad in 2007 with 66k kms. I bought it after it sat for 3 years with dead struts for $5000cad. This spring it had 100k kms and the insurance gave me $9200 based on condition and local market.

Is insurance compulsory in Canada?

you're required have basic liability insurance. I had total coverage on mine. A lot of insurance companies here won't give full coverage on jdms because they don't fall into the rating brackets normally and are typically to expensive to fix.

I've been smacked into enough times from other idiots that the one time I didn't have full coverage I had to argue with the other guys insurance for 6 months.
