Hello all

I’m new here so just wanted to say hello and also hoped you may be able to answer a couple of questions.
I am hoping to replace my Astra Turbo GSI within the next 6 months with an EVO IX or X. I have been looking into the IX FQ360 or the X FQ300.
Am I right in thinking that the X has a 24k/1 year service interval and the IX is 4k?
Also if I go for the X FQ300 is it easy to upgrade to 360 ish?
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I have always loved the EVO and want to get the best bang for my buck.

Thanks

CRushER
PS maybe I should post the questions in General Chat too. :D

I may be wrong but i thought the X was a service interval of 10K or 1 Year.

And yes it would be easy to get to 360BHP but the flappy gearbox is reported to be a bit weak so you risk it going bang as you add power (if you go flappy that is).

Personally Im still unsure in the X. It is all new and spangly but im not 100% on the looks.

If you are going X i would say go 360 if you want the all out top of the power range one or go 300 if you want to save a bit and still get a great car with loads of potential for extra power when you get the urge.

Hi Nick

Thanks for the quick responce. I have rechecked and you are correct it is in fact 10,000 miles.

I have never even tried a flappy gearbox and its not something I have been looking at, but its certainly something I will need to take into account if im going to upgrade in the future.

Thanks again
